There are two things that get me through life: one is television, and the other is tea*. I don’t think I could function without either one.
January is National Hot Tea Month! Not that tea lovers need a special designation to remind them to drink tea (and these cold days make a perfect time to have a cup and a Snuggie and relax on the couch). I think I consume around eight cups a day in the fall and winter (I don’t drink hot tea in the summer; I might have iced tea on those days).
I used to be one of those people that simply bought tea bags (Red Rose) and put a couple into a mug and added a bunch of milk and sugar. I loved it, until I discovered that what I was liking was probably the milk and the sugar. Then I discovered the wonderful world of loose tea and infusers. There’s no comparison. My go-to teas right now are the Twinings Earl Grey and various teas from Tealuxe in the Boston area. This is the infuser I use. If you’ve never had loose tea because supermarket tea bags were more convenient, give it a try.
* OK, if you include pizza, there are three things.
