  • NBC’s Thursday night line-up trickles back to full power by doubling up two of its mainstays. First up, My Name is Earl gets back to the core of the show: Earl’s list. Tonight’s two-fer features Seth Green and Ma and Pa Hickey as Earl tackles two different items.
  • The classic Superman mythos begins to take shape as Clark experiences his first days working alongside Lois Lane at The Daily Planet on The CW’s Smallville. Meanwhile, newspaper tabloid fodder Lindsay Lohan guests on the season premiere of Ugly Betty, along with Regis and Kelly. I hope we get to see Lindsay’s alcohol anklet!
  • For the first time ever, CBS’ Survivor launches with a two-hour premiere! Of course, that probably just means two episodes back-to-back and since CSI regularly gets better ratings than this anyway, I don’t really see the strategy.
  • FOX is doing it too, only not with a premiere. If you don’t want to listen to wannabe celebrities bitching out in the wild then you can catch two hours of Gordon Ramsay bitching out contestants on back-to-back Kitchen Nightmares.

9:00p/8:00 Central

  • The boys face the spirits of the innocents they’ve failed to save during their time as monster hunters on The CW’s Supernatural. But if that’s not manly enough for ya, you can get your wrestling fix on Spike TV with TNA: Impact!. Or if you just wanna see things get blowed up real good The Discovery Channel has just what you need with Destroyed in Seconds. It’s nice to see that it’s getting easier and easier to get a show greenlit. We’re gonna show things getting destroyed. SOLD!
  • How about a show where we see what happens inside The Principal’s Office? Hells yeah, says TruTV. That’s raw, uncensored drama right there! Or there’s the finale on BBC America of Dragon’s Den will reveal which pitch is worthy of moving forward with investment backing. I hope this show comes to America so I can get my spaghetti furniture idea off the ground.
  • Don’t fear, though. As things end so too do things begin. And tonight offers two double-sized premieres. ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy kicks off winter a bit early when a snow storm blankets the hospital. Things are simpler on NBC’s The Office, where we catch up on this past summer at Dunder-Mifflin, where the employees went on a health kick.

10:00p/9:00 Central

  • I know the fifteenth season premiere of ER on NBC is a big deal. I mean this is the year they’re going to fail again to get George Clooney to make an appearance. Tonight’s just the aftermath of the ambulence explosion. What will they blow up for the series finale? The hospital?
  • I’m more excited about the continuing shenanigans at Paddy’s Pub. FX brings us another back-to-back hour of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I like getting more Sunny but this also means they’re going to run out of new episodes sooner. Tonight the boys try judge a modeling contest, and that’s just the first half hour! Hot chicks and bad behavior. And Danny DeVito. What more could you want?
  • Would you rather watch the Gordon Ramsay of the hair styling industry on Tabatha’s Salon Takeover on Bravo or Glam God with Vivica A. Fox where we seek the next great celebrity stylist. I know, how can we possibly decide between them.
  • Or, if you have a penis, how about a specialized verison of Cops focusing on a team that takes down car thieves on A&E’s Jacked: Auto Theft Task Force. Remember when Arts & Entertainment was about high-brow entertainment. Do we even have a high-brow anymore?
  • Or if you just want some good-old fashioned stand-up you can check out Showtime’s Comics Without Borders with featured comedians Justin Worsham and Dean Edwards. I know, how did they book these guys?!

11:00p/10:00 Central

  • After you recover from whatever mad cocktail of entertainment you’ve put together for the prior three hours, settle into the insanity of Margaret Cho as VH1 wraps the first season of The Cho Show with back-to-back installments.
