Tonight on the tube: An award-winning film on Sci Fi!?

HBO

HBO

5:00p/4:00 Central

  • At 5:30p/4:30 Central The CW kicks off its new Sunday night lineup with a new 4Real, featuring Eva Mendes visiting Vancouver to take a look at its problems with homelessness and addiction.

7:00p/6:00 Central

  • 60 Minutes on CBS takes a look at what may be the world’s oldest family business, the battle of Sadr City, and the man who infiltrated the Gambino family reveals his identity for the first time.
  • The CW’s In Harm’s Way examines those people who risk their lives to capture live animals. I think they mean more than chihuahuas, though those little bitches can be mean!
  • The NFL on NBC kicks off with Football Night in America, while ABC brings you videos of guys getting their arms caught in power windows and getting pooped on by birds.
  • But oh my God, that’s not nearly as dramatic as the first season finale of My Super Sweet 16: Exiled on MTV. I mean, those girls really know what suffering and danger is. Sometimes … sometimes they don’t get the exact model sports car they wanted. You know how (*gasp*) hard that is!

8:00p/7:00 Central

  • Who knew that a sports bra could become the fulcrum on which a team’s performance is based. Find out how tonight as teams wrestle at high altitudes on a new The Amazing Race on CBS.
  • Proof that teachers don’t get paid enough comes tonight on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. 2005 Wal-Mart teacher of the year, a now single mother of four, after the death of her husband, is living in a home in a serious state of disrepair because she can’t afford repairs. But Ty Pennington is probably a millionaire (no knock on Ty, this show actually does good work — it’s more a celebrity riches statement)!
  • NFL players give back too, but they’re still millionaires. See if you can count the combined salaries of Patriots as they take on the Chargers on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
  • The Phillies hope to go up 3-0 as the NLCS Game 3 action moves to Los Angeles. Going from overpaid sports figures to money-grubbing whores, tonight also features the reunion special of VH1’s I Love Money. And speaking of love, the gods battle cultural differences, and each other, on a new Valentine on The CW.

9:00p/8:00 Central

  • But be careful with love because it can lead to marriage. And marriage leads to Bridezillas, as seen on WE. For women who are just bitches naturally, tune in to Sharon Osbourne teaching proper manners to past contestants on VH1’s Rock Of Love Girls: Charm School.
  • Sci Fi’s original film this week is actually an award winner. Winner of “Best Foreign Feature” at the Big Island Film Festival, tune into Man-Thing Swamp Thing Swamp Devil.
  • Sookie seeks comfort from her friends in the face of tragedy, while Jason blames her for it on HBO’s True Blood. Meanwhile, Morgan tries to uncover more about his own past on a new Easy Money on The CW.
  • CBS offers up Bobby Cannavale returning as Eddie Saccardo on a new Cold Case. The team opens up a ’64 case of a white woman who secretly went to Mississippi during Freedom Summer. Also returning is Bree’s daughter, Danielle, on a new Desperate Housewives over at ABC.

10:00p/9:00 Central

  • It’s Chick Hour as you can flip between tons of shows about and for the ladies. First we have the “First Ladies” of Playboy in a new The Girls Next Door. With Holly and Hef broken up and Brigitte and Kendra moving on with their lives, who knows what the future of this show holds. For now, you can catch Hef and the ladies acting as if none of this has happened yet (because it hasn’t).
  • Next, on WE is a new Amazing Wedding Cakes. I know, it’s about the cake. They have one about the dress too, you know. No love for the tux? Lifetime offers up a new Army Wives, while the Biography Channel brings a fresh Female Forces.
  • Hell, the wives of CBS’s The Unit are pretty important, too. But tonight’s episode is more about a group of girls being trafficked as sex slaves. Which is a great segueway into a new episode of Showtime’s Californication. But I’m not going to tell you why.
  • The second series of BBC America’s Skins kicks off tonight, right after last week’s series one finale, with Tony still recovering from his accident, Maxxie wanting to drop out of college to become a dancer and more relationship drama than you can shake a biscuit at.
  • Speaking of drama, ABC’s Brothers & Sisters has Holly pushing her new authority at Ojai too far, Kevin facing homophobia at work for the first time, and Justin struggling with the appreciation of another veteran he saved in Iraq.
  • Over at AMC, Don makes some new friends while on a business trip and Peggy looks for office romance on a new Mad Men. Not as suave as Don, for certain, will be the contestants of VH1’s The Pick Up Artist 2, back for a second run of schooling on the “how-tos” of hooking up.
  • Ari picks up a club to save Vince’s career on a new Entourage, followed by more sketch madness from Little Britain USA on HBO.

11:00p/10:00 Central

  • By now, if you’ve lost the remote, don’t worry. You can just stick with HBO for a couple of animated shorts on The Life & Times of Tim. First up, Tim is offered a promotion. All he has to do is take the boss’s daughter to prom. Then, offering up his seat on the bus to an elderly man backfires in a big way.
