Tonight on the tube: Game 6 of the ALCS and celebrity wrestling

  • Yes, I know there were specials on MTV this afternoon featuring “Lost Scenes” from The Hills. I just don’t care. If you really want to watch them, and missed them, I’m sure MTV will repeat them ad nauseum throughout the next week.
  • What is on is NBC’s America’s Toughest Job, settling into a new timeslot just in time for the 5 remaining contestants to tackle search and rescue on Alaska’s Mt. McKinley. I wonder if they can see Russia from up there? TLC’s Flip That House comes at you with two back-to-back renovations stretching from Georgia to California.
  • ABC’s cooking up some more Saturday Night College Football. It looks as if games may vary by location so check your local listings. One thing that won’t vary is the ALCS Game 6 on TBS. After the Red Sox gave the Rays a stunning come-from-behind spanking, the action returns to Tampa.
  • The premiere of Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling features the likes of Tiffany, Todd Bridges and Danny Bonaduce: basically those “celebrities” who’ll do any kind of reality show to get some exposure and money. It’s the fact that it’s on CMT that makes little sense to me.
  • FOX offers up a two-hour block of Cops repeats, while CBS repeats Nicholas Brendon’s guest appearance on Criminal Minds from last season.

  • Tonight’s Primeval on BBC America takes our intrepid team through an anomaly after a missing girl who stumbled through. Then we spend most of the action on the other side after the anomaly closes and they must find another way home. And the girl.
  • This is apparently the hour of the original telefilm. Of course, you know SciFi has a new offering: Fire and Ice: The Dragon Chronicles, featuring Amy Acker (Angel) as a princess who must join up with a knight to defeat a dragon.
  • More down to earth is Pam Grier, Donna Mills and Florence Henderson joining up to rehab a house, and possibly their lives, on Hallmark Channel’s Ladies of the House. Are you touched?
  • If not then maybe you’d be more moved by Harry Connick, Jr.’s turn as Dr. Slamon, the man who developed and fought to get the breast cancer drug Herceptin 2 into the hands of those women who need it. Amanda Bynes, Bernadette Peters, Angie Harmon, Regina King, Jennifer Coolidge and Swoosie Kurtz are just some of the powerhouse women actors who flesh out Lifetime’s Living Proof.
  • Even WE wants to sweeten the hour with a new installment of The Locator.
  • But if that’s too much heartwarming, feel-good crap you can always settle on CMT for a one-two punch of My Big Redneck Wedding followed by Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team. Or how about three hours of UFC fighting? Spike TV’s got you covered on that front.
  • CBS’s repeat this hour is a CSI: NY from last season where the team must solve the murder of a guidance counselor. NBC opts instead to reair the pilot of My Own Worst Enemy in case you missed it the first time.

10:00p/9:00 Central

  • Tired of those movies yet? How about a real-life 30-year mystery of a missing mother. CBS’s 48 Hours Mystery has that story.  Or maybe you’d rather be touched by John Edward Cross Country on WE. “Secret Crushes” on TLC’s Trading Spaces?
  • Ah, just forget it all and settle in for a laugh with The Graham Norton Show on BBC America. Unless you missed this week’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on NBC and you’re kicking yourself over it. They’re re-airing it right here and now.

11:00p/10:00 Central

  • The remaining reality stars continue in Fox Reality Channel’s bizarre Gimme My Reality Show! where the winner will actually get one. Out already is Bobby Trendy, but still in the running are AJ Benza, Traci Bingham, Gretchen Bonaduce, Kato Kaelin, Susan Olsen and Ryan Starr. I know, what an A-List cast, right?
