Grey’s Anatomy – Go home, Denny!

ABC

ABC

(Season 5, Episode 9 – “In the Midnight Hour”)

This episode was just “meh” for me. Maybe I’ve become so used to having giant traumas week after week, that when we don’t have one, the episode seems boring.

And it’s really bugging me that Denny is still hanging around! If it’s indeed his ghost, what is wrong with him? Why doesn’t he let Izzie go? Go home, Denny!

And the interns! What were they thinking, operating on Sadie (who appears to have some sort of death wish or cutter’s syndrome or something). The whole thing is just gruesome, and you knew things weren’t going to go well when Lexie tried to stop it, and Sadie grabbed the scalpel and cut herself

I like that we saw a different side of Sloan when he comforted the 13-year-old girl with the sleepwalking dad. We learn that Sloan didn’t have much of a childhood because his parents were out partying or whatever, so he used to turn all the lights and TVs on in the house when they were gone at night. And by the way, that girl deserves an Emmy. Her turn as the traumatized, sleepless girl trying to take care of her dad was great.

Other thoughts:

Yuck. Is there such a thing as a “fecal transplant”? I guess there must be, but it sounds icky. Couldn’t the woman have just eaten some yogurt or something?

Cristina and Meredith’s fight at the end was just irritating. If they’re such close friends, maybe Cristina should have brought Meredith in on what was going on with the interns as soon as she knew about it. Maybe that’s why Meredith didn’t have her back in the Chief’s office, because she felt out of the loop.

Glad to see Owen and Cristina finally make a human connection, rather than another scene with him grabbing and kissing her out of the blue. Clearly, he’s got some emotional trauma issues to deal with, and she’s not exactly balanced either.

Your thoughts on this episode?

I want Denny around. The best thing to happen to Grey’s since Kevin McKidd!

Could. Not. Agree. More.

I want the show to be all about ghosts, get rid of everyone but Denny.

And I like McKidd’s harsh kisses. We learned with what’s his face that treating Cristina with kid gloves is not a good option. She needs someone with some internal power.

I don’t get the Sadie thing. I do know that her and “Death” have certainly not been the best of friends in quite some time, because that girl is messed up. Meredith would have known that otherwise.

Grey’s Anatomy used to be a good show. I won’t be watching these 5 episodes with Denny. I don’t think I can stand them. The Denny/Izzie storyline has been ridiculous since the beginning. Because of Denny Duquette, I hate the actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan

yes, the fecal transplant is an actual procedure. one of my friends almost had to have this done to help his father. Trust me, you have many more bacteria in your body than just what you can get from yogurt! if you don’t have the proper bacteria, your body can’t process the food properly, and not everybody’s bacterial combination is the same.
