Dexter – The Skinner isn’t finished yet

(Season 3, Episode 10 – “Go Your Own Way”)

It’s surprising sometimes how similar Deb and Dexter are, even though they’re not blood related. Both of them seem to take asinine risks at the sake of their livelihood, and it’s a miracle they get away with it. Deb screwing around with Anton should easily lead her into serious trouble, but I have a feeling it’ll find its way swept under some rug somewhere. I wouldn’t put it past Quinn to somehow help her out in that area.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that King, The Skinner, is part of Miguel’s “army of psychos,” though it wasn’t a surprise to see that he’s back. When we saw the binocular view of Dexter on the roof, I thought for sure it was going to be Maria or someone working for her in secret. Since it wasn’t her, where will she take things as she starts to put more pieces together?

Maria won’t take any chances after having let her guard down with Doakes (though, of course, we know she had a right to). I expect to see her act quite quickly in making damned sure what she’s thinking about Miguel is something serious or not.

This could mean absolutely nothing, but I felt the scene pictured above — the men with red wine, the women with white — was symbolic in some way. Symbolic for the blood on both men’s hands, the purity of the women. Or could it mean something more, like perhaps each woman dying at the hands of each man by the season finale? I don’t see Rita making it through this, so what of Syl?

Where could the season go from here, for Miguel? Could he really be brought to trial without Dexter having to be implicated in any way? No way. The only fate left for Miguel is for him to die at someone’s hands. Wouldn’t be ironic if it were Maria or Syl?

I really hope Miguel dies at the hands of Dexter. However, I agree that there is a possibility of Syl murdering him – she doesn’t seem like the stable sort.

The inevitable torture scene with Dexter in the hands of the skinner is oddly exiting. We already know Dexter has more underlying emotions than he likes to tell himself, and a lot of this season was about Dexter dropping his guard. I wonder if his recent state of mind will be an asset or a hindrance to surviving the skinning?

I love how every season of Dexter makes me anxious towards the end. It really knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat.

On another note, anybody else notice that Deb has a spitting problem when she yells. She spit when she was talking to Anton this week, and Quinn last week. I only mention it cause it happened 2 weeks in a row. I think she must have pissed the editors off or just spits all the time.

Really? You don’t see Rita making it through this? I have to say, Dexter may think he doesn’t have feelings but really he does. We all saw last season what happened when the kids and Rita were threatened by Lila. He would do anything to protect them. If anything were to happen to Rita, I might have to stop watching the show because Dexter needs her as much as he needs the more nefarious parts of his life.

I don’t mean at Dexter’s hand. I think Miguel or the Skinner might take out Rita for revenge against Dexter. In any case, I can’t see Dexter as a daddy next season.
