With its “Casting Clack” post, CliqueClack brings you a summary of the TV casting news released throughout the week, be it the addition of a series regular, a new recurring cast member, a guest star, or even someone making a cameo.

Be warned, the casting news after the jump may contain slight spoilers about the roles the actors will play.

This week, we have casting news for the following TV series: 30 Rock, 90210, CSI: Miami, CSI: New York, Eli Stone, Gossip Girl, Grey’s Anatomy, Life on Mars, Privileged and Samantha Who?

  • Liz Lemon is about to get some more lovin’. Mad Men’s Jon Hamm is set to guest star as a doctor who’ll do some flirting with Liz. Hamm confirmed that he’ll appear in a few episodes of 30 Rock. [Source: AOL]
  • Friday Night Lights‘ Aimee Teegarden will play a student named Rhonda on 90210. Rhonda is said to cross paths (aka probably get in a fight and cause a lot of drama) with one of the main characters. Not to worry, Teegarden will appear in all FNL episodes as production has wrapped up, meaning there will be no scheduling conflicts with her 90210 gig. [Source: Watch with Kristin]
  • Khandi Alexander will reprise her role on CSI: Miami for at least one episode set to air sometime this winter. It is unknown why Alexx will show up, but it will be interesting to hear about what she’s been up to since she decided to leave the CSI team to take care of her family. [Source: TV Guide]
  • Craig T. Nelson, better known for his role on Coach and who recently appeared on My Name Is Earl, will play a publishing magnate in a three-episode arc of CSI: New York. Mac Taylor and co. better watch their backs because he is described as a nemesis to the show’s lead character! [Source: The Ausiello Files]
  • Everwood‘s Gregory Smith will be one of the many guest stars to appear in Eli Stone‘s series finale. Smith’s role has yet to be confirmed but it looks like he may turn to Eli for help when the parents of his deceased girlfriend refuse to give her heart for a transplant. [Source: TV Guide]
  • Laura Breckenridge will create drama when she appears in at least three episodes of The CW’s Gossip Girl. The actress will play an English teacher named Rachel Carr whose young looks will have people mistake her for a student. Carr should watch her back, as back-stabber extraordinaire Blair will set her evil sights on her. [Source: The Ausiello Files]
  • Actor and director Eric Stoltz has landed a three-episode gig on Grey’s Anatomy. The actor, who directed a few GA episodes, will play a serial killer in need of medical care. You can bet that the doctors will not rush to treat him and will ponder on if they should help him or not considering his day job. [Source: The Ausiello Files]
  • Fred Thompson will appear in one episode of Life on Mars as the NYPD’s chief of detectives. His episode is slated to air in February. [Source: The Ausiello Files]
  • Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz will guest star in an upcoming episode of The CW’s Privileged. Not much is known about his role but we know that he’ll appear in a scene with Sage and Rose and that his episode will more than likely be the first to air when the series comes back in January. • If you enjoy Regina on Samantha Who? get ready for a double dose! Christine Ebesole has been cast as Regina’s sister. Turns out that Regina used Sam’s amnesia to forget about her sister’s existence! The truth comes out when Sam and Regina run into Ebesole’s character. I bet that Sam will give her mother the cold shoulder for a while for keeping up secrets about family members. [Source: TV Guide]
  • In other Samantha Who? family news, Florence Henderson will play Samantha’s grandmother in an episode set to air in January. Grandma will rush to town to settle things down between Regina and her sister. [Source: The Ausiello Files]

Wow! I can’t wait to see Eric Stoltz on Grey’s. I never noticed that he had directed some of the episodes. He’ll probably be great, because creepy, skeevy characters are some of his best roles.
