It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – Leaving Philadelphia

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - The Gang Hits the RoadRoad trip! For what I believe is the first time in Sunny history, the gang actually packs up for vacation and heads off for the Grand Canyon, bringing their special brand of crazy along for the ride. A long vacation was something new for the gang so I was really interested to see what would happen.

I was even more interested when we saw that though they had a large U-Haul camper hitched to the back of the car, it was essentially empty. If they weren’t going to be packing anything in it, then why bring it. At least Dee has a nice new car.

They tried to leaver her … twice! The second time after they stole her car. I love how no one cares about anyone or anything on this show. Hands down, one of the funniest road trips on any sitcom I’ve ever seen.

A definite highlight was the idea of starting a fire in the trailer. If your grill slides out the duct taped opening, then just burn wicker chairs. What could go wrong?

There were so many funny moments, with Dee having to go to the bathroom constantly, Charlie eating a pear … core, sticker and all. The aforementioned asphyxiation and the climactic moment with Charlie and the hitchhiker.

When the gang woke up the next morning in the trailer, you knew they were still in Philly. I knew they were, but it was still funny. They walked into the bar and Charlie thinks they went to the Grand Canyon and their back already.

There wasn’t even enough plot to go on and on about with this episode. It was just flat-out funny. One of the funniest shows on television. I know it’s dark and twisted and a little disgusting at times, but it’s certainly funnier than Two and a Half Men. Why no Emmy considerations ever for this on?

It’s got Danny DeVito? Emmy respects him. Remember Danny DeVito, Emmy? Remember Taxi? Yeah, you like Danny DeVito. See, he’s got this new show. It’s on FX. Yeah, they do comedies now, too. Well, really just this one is any good so far, but it’s got Danny DeVito. You should check it out!

That was one of the funniest TV episodes of any show ever. I was laughing all the way through it (SNL, 2.5 men, etc could learn a thing or two). In the beginning, when they said where they were going I turned to my hubby and said
“how much you want to bet they never leave Philly?” I knew exactly what would happen, but I didnt care because there were so many different things going on each of them funnier than the last one.

I agree…Emmy voters are lame.

I thought burning the wicker chairs to cook the hot dogs was a good idea?
