Well, everything wasn’t as it seemed … not surprisingly. Callen wasn’t really married, but he did go undercover for the CIA with a wife — an undercover wife — Tracy Keller (Marisol Nichols). And she shows up using her former, married-to-Callen name and takes a Navy Recruitment office hostage. What a way to start a show.
After last week’s Sam-centric story, we were back to finding out more about Callen. It was nice to see his softer side. Even though the marriage between Callen and Tracy was not real, they did care about each other. That lead Callen to trust her, though, due to their parting years ago, not entirely. From the hostage taking, to the killing of an FBI agent, to the killing of another FBI agent, to stealing the money, there were lots of reasons to not trust her, but they still got the job done. Ultimately, the partnership of Callen and Tracy brought down a dangerous arms dealer. As a bonus, we got to see another side of Callen and learn more about his past.
To trust or not to trust your former partner? In the end, she really was in it for herself and the money, but I think she really did care for Callen. Tracy offered him a life in the Caymans together, but Callen, rightfully, picked his current partner, Sam, instead.
