The Revenge episode that we have all been waiting for finally has come and gone! And, I was not disappointed, even though it played out almost exactly as I expected and have been writing about all season.
Tyler is dead! But, who killed him?
I guess I should step back and start at the beginning. So, as predicted last week, it was Tyler that stole Emily’s secret revenge stash from her hidden floor cubbie. With that evidence, Tyler could have done much more harm to Emily than trying to set her up for murdering Daniel, but … he didn’t choose to go that route. And, it ended up costing him his life.
Even though Amanda is easily manipulated, I was surprised that she jumped on Team Tyler so quickly against Emily. Yes, Emily did frame Amanda and it wasn’t Victoria, but to pull a gun on Emily was surprising. Manipulated, yes, but not entirely stupid either. How precious was that moment when Tyler told Amanda that Emily had framed him for Frank’s death? Emily has used Amanda in many ways for her own purposes and not always good, but she has protected her as well.
So, what actually happened?
Emily went to the party. Nolan was there and was monitoring security, but before anything went down on the beach he gave his iPad to security to hold on to. Takeda showed up at the party after presumably retrieving Emily’s infinity box and all of its secrets. If Takeda was at Tyler’s hideout, did he see Tyler? Hear of the plan to kill Daniel? Did you notice that glance between Takeda and Nolan at the party? Something was up!
Emily went down to the beach to bury the box and Daniel followed her. They had a discussion about running away to Paris, but that didn’t end well. What was up with Daniel? He was crushed by all of his family’s secrets. Emily never sounded like she wanted to stay for selfish reasons, as Victoria predicted, but Daniel immediately thought the worst. Sad. Very sad.
Emily returned to the party and Tyler then approached Daniel with a gun. It appeared that Tyler shot Daniel, but did he? We definitely see Daniel falling down on the beach still holding Emily’s revenge picture. What happened to him?
We then see someone with black gloves, black jacket and white shirt pick up Emily’s revenge picture and then shoot the gun two more times. Those shots appear to have been at Tyler, as he had two gun shot wounds on his back. Who was the shooter? It couldn’t be Daniel, because he was knocked out on the beach.
At this point, my best guess is the shooter was either Takeda or one of the people working security. All the security guys were wearing black jackets at that party, so they have to be suspected. At the same time, that seems too easy of an answer. Could someone have taken one of their coats to wear down to the beach? Takeda was wearing a white jacket, so if it was him, he changed clothes. We now know who was killed, but now there is the mystery of who did the shooting!
Could Amanda have shot Tyler? She may have had time to do it, but I doubt it. Jack was right behind her and Amanda seemed to be in shock at finding the body. Plus, if she did it, wouldn’t she have still had the gun in her hand or nearby when Jack showed up. I don’t think she did it.
But, what is going to happen to Amanda now that Takeda has her? When she got into Jack’s car, she took off her jacket. What will Jack think when he finds the wire transfer form in her pocket? Or, will the police find it first? Plus, will there be blood on her jacket? It doesn’t look good for Jack or Amanda.
From the way everything went down, there was more to the beach shooting than it appears. While Tyler initiated the plan to kill Daniel, he wasn’t the only one with a plan. Somehow, yet to be determined, Emily, Nolan, or Takeda got wind of Tyler’s plan and came up with one of their own to get Tyler.
And, no matter who found out, Emily knew! The look of horror on her face when she thought it was Daniel, who was shot, was that of someone not shocked because there was a shooting, but that Daniel was shot. She thought the plan had gone awry.
What happens now? Daniel has blood on him, was on the beach and doesn’t remember anything. He is definitely going to be the prime suspect in Tyler’s murder. Just as one mystery has been solved another even bigger one has emerged. The rest of this season is going to be exciting to watch.
Lots of Odds and Ends
Who do you think killed Tyler? And, what is going to happen to Daniel and Emily now? How about Jack? Amanda? Everyone’s status is up in the air! And, unfortunately, we have to wait two weeks for the next episode.

Here’s where I’m confused. In the opening scene, the killer took a piece of paper from Tyler’s jacket, which I assumed was the wire transfer form. But didn’t Amanda take it in the hideout? Or maybe I wasn’t paying proper attention.

The killer picked up Emily’s revenge list that Daniel dropped when he fell on the beach. It was the red X picture that Tyler gave to Daniel.
@Ann, the piece of paper was the picture that Tyler had given Daniel to look at. Someone either knocked Daniel out or he was shot once. Whoever shot Tyler picked up the picture off of Daniel while he was unconscious. The first scene clearly shows Daniel falling to his knees and then his face. But after that were more shots which was someone killing Tyler.
It looked to me that Daniel was hurt. He was either shot or knocked out as he had blood coming out his ears in the last scene.
I think it was Nolan’s body guard that shot Tyler. Satoshi and Nolan had nodded at each other inside right before the shots were fired. Satoshi still had a white tux on when he picked up Amanda in his car so I don’t think it was him.
I just hope Jack doesn’t get blamed for any part of this. He thinks Amanda shot someone, and he thinks it was Daniel because he saw Daniels phone.
I think Tyler must have lost his glove when Jack dragged his body up the beach. Because Tyler did have black gloves on when he was pointing the gun at Daniel.
We shall see.
From another article I read, it seems that Tyler hit Daniel on the back of the head and knocked him out. (Maybe with the gun?)
I think it was Takeda–it was too convenient that he showed up to give “Amanda” a ride. And how the heck did he get Emily’s box back?
As for the divorce, I wonder if Victoria had different papers drawn up and then Conrad signed them without reading them…

Oh no, I just thought of something…what if Jack confesses to the murder because he wants to protect Amanda. This could turn out bad for Jack. But one thing on everyone’s side is the fact that Tyler was already a convicted murderer and psychopath, so it could all be considered self defense. Hope so.
Here is another scenario that might have happened… I kept thinking, ‘why did Daniel have so much blood splattered on his tux if he was knocked unconscious or even shot himself?’ The answer could be that Daniel did shoot Tyler first as they struggled with the gun, and then someone else knocked Daniel out and finished Tyler off with the remaining shots. That person was wearing black, which I think was either Nolan’s body guard, or someone that Satoshi Takeda had hired to protect Daniel and Emily.

What about….
I think Daniel is being framed for Tyler’s murder since Emily is getting “too emotionally involved.” Remember Takenda warning her about this? When you seek revenge, dig two graves. Is it one, Tyler’s, and two, Daniel for being blamed for the murder? Takeda was obviously not happy when Daniel told him he was planning on whisking Emily away to France and forget the Grayson name, etc. Did Takeda manage to clean up Emily’s loose ends? Nolan definitely had something to do with it. If the whale cam was on Jack’s boat, he definitely had to know that Amanda showed up. WAS AMANDA IN ON IT THE WHOLE TIME TO GET TYLER TO THE BEACH TO GET SHOT?? The whale came must’ve shown Amanda running off, and Jack pursuing her. Anything is possible and that is why I love this show!!!!
I think that the killer was Emily’s father. I don’t think that he really is dead, I think he is somehow behind all of this!!! I guess we’ll wait and see :)
