As we are on the eve of upfronts, news of cancellations and renewals is flying in. This week we take a look at the fates of some of those bubble shows, and ponder what Ashton Kutcher replacing Charlie Sheen on ‘Two and a Half Men’ means for the CBS Monday.
Now come on – that was just ridiculous … one ridiculously good hour of television, that is! Is it even possible we have to wait four months to find out what happens next?
Overall, the first full week of sweeps was a bit slow. The big surprise came as NBC’s ‘The Voice’ managed to improve on what was an outstanding debut the week before. Over on cable, can you imagine ‘L&O CI’ on USA beating new ‘L&O LA’ on NBC?
There was a theme running through tonight’s episode: family. It was about loyalty, love and sacrifice, and not everyone made it out alive. One family in particular is a lot smaller since the events in this episode played out.
NBC had the big news for the week, with the premiere of ‘The Voice’. Over on cable, week two of ‘Game of Thrones’ was right on pace with the premiere, while ‘Sanctuary’ gave ‘SGU’ fans a little more ammo.
Getting kind of tired of attempting to write coherent reviews of ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ when all I want to do is scream, “OMG!” And I mean that in a good way. So instead, I speckle tonight’s musings with my predictions for how things could play out in the next two episodes.
The final tally is in, and ‘The Paul Reiser Show’ came up just 162 episodes short of the mark he set with ‘Mad About You’. Over on cable, HBO kicked off ‘Game of Thrones’ to a less than spectacular number, but does that even matter?
