As we head to the finish line for the season, more renewals are rolling in. CW has given golden tickets to ‘Vampire Diaries’, ‘Supernatural’, and ‘90210’, while HBO has tapped both ‘Veep’ and ‘Girls’ for second seasons.
There wasn’t a set “number” story per se this episode. The digit correlations we’ve come to accept were relegated to second fiddle. Instead, we were redirected around “zones of exclusion” in interesting ways …
Last week brought a rare sighting to broadcast television, in the form of the lowest rated dramatic premiere ever. Amazingly, that was followed by a renewal for the lowest rated show on another network. Meanwhile, over on cable, the going was also slow for the latest from HBO.
A cool (to me, anyway) introduction on ‘Touch’ proved the show is serious about the spirituality aspect going forward just as much as the scientific and emotional ideas it confronts.
This spring continues to be a dark time for all of television, with lows hitting across the board. That didn’t bode well for the premiere of ‘NYC 22′ on CBS. Over on cable, HBO had their own struggles with the premiere of ‘Girls’.
The numbers this time around took on meaningful representations, one of which turned out to be a bad omen.
