Well … that was easy.
Really all you had to do was tune in to the last ten minutes, or so, and avoid all of what came before, to see what the already-known result was. (Recaps and previous performances and lots of blah-blah-blah about the season filled the majority of the this finale. If you’ve tuned in since summer’s start, you saw it all before.) And that result was what’s been expected for a long, long time now:
Melanie Moore — with 47% of the overall vote — is the winner of season 8 of So You Think You Can Dance.
This wasn’t news. Melanie has been tearing it up for weeks now, beginning in early June when we first saw her, and eventually earning the nickname “The Beast” by the judges. This was a hands-down slam-dunk win, unlike last year when there was some question as to whether or Kent Boyd would be the eventual winner. No such drama here.
Congratulations, Melanie. There isn’t a more deserving winner.
