Well this was a rather surprising press release to get this late in the game. Cartoon Network has announced the renewal and return of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, coming back to the network for a second season this coming July 18 at 8 PM.
The press release doesn’t offer much in the way of what to expect out of the second season, but I imagine one big question on many fans’ minds is what “surprise” can we look forward to this time? Last season offered up a couple of doozies that one wouldn’t have necessarily expected out of this kind of animated show, including the “real” Zane and who the legendary Green Ninja would turn out to be — I won’t ruin either of those reveals to you here, but just click the links provided and you’ll wonder no longer.
I was actually discussing the possibility of the show’s return with my son last week, and we got about wondering what new group of enemies we might expect this time around. First we had a skeleton army, then snakes. Will they stick with one of those or bring in something new? I dunno, maybe spiders — Taratulons? Robots? Aliens (Ninjaliens, I call them)? Can any new mysteries and reveals top what we saw last season? What new toys and games would you hope to — or expect to — see out of this new season?
