The big surprise on the networks came from the numbers for ABC’s Jaycee Dugard special, which easily outscored the MLB All-Star Game. Over on cable, another huge helping of summer premieres, including ‘Curb’, ‘Alphas’, ‘Warehouse 13′, ‘Eureka’, and ‘The Closer’.
The holiday weekend meant a slow week, even by summer standards. The interesting stories come from how well ‘Falling Skies’ is holding up, and the possibility that ‘Rookie Blue’ has already earned a third season.
The big story for the week was the return of ‘True Blood’ on HBO, which remains the biggest hit the network has where ratings are concerned. On the broadcast networks, NBC unscripted continues to hold the lead.
While new series may have had a rough go of it this past season, I for one enjoyed the recently concluded year of television. Here’s what my TV Thursdays looked like during the 2010-2011 season.

Things looked much better as many shows bounced back from the struggles of last week. On the networks, ‘Chicago Code’ loves that Charlie Sheen is on the drug called Charlie Sheen. And on cable, the NBA looks a lot like the ‘Jersey Shore’.
